Spyro Ever After - Scrapped Educational Game

An educational Spyro game that got scrapped! We currently do not know much about it and only a former member of the development team added his input on the project on his portfolios.

Brian Reynolds wrote -
"One of the projects I was involved with at Knowledge Adventure was a pitch session on the possibility of leveraging another established property that was owned by the Vivendi Universal conglomerate over to the children's educational market that we worked in. The property was Spyro the Dragon and the plan was to place this character within a fairytale environment for a series of adventures. Nothing came of the project but it gave me the chance to draw Spyro and come up with a number of interesting character designs."

"A mockup image of a proposed children's educational software title that would put the character of Spyro the Dragon in the context of a world populated by classic fairy-tale denizens."

A leaked animated segment from the cancelled project was posted online and shared.

Spyro Reignited character artist draws fan design for a Reignited Cynder

Nicholas Kole, one of the character artists who worked on the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, uploaded his version on what Cynder would look like in the Spyro Reignited universe. He even gave her an insect companion, like Sparx is to Spyro. Nicholas even did a Procreate video process on the artwork.

Nicholas Kole tweeted:
I'm keen to explore what a gang of lady elder dragons might look like, but first things first: Cynder & Sting her dragonfly(esque) best bud, imagined in the style of the Reignited Trilogy. Unofficial fanart for those who, like my wife, loved her lots!

Nicholas Kole tweeted:

Alt palette- playing with something close to Black Cynder after talking with a few fans- I think dark purple is still a better fit for the tone of the RT, but I wanted to see what this would look like!

Reignited Character Artist's Fan Take on Adult Take

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is #1 best seller in the UK

The Spyro Reignited Trilogy gained first place during the competition of game best sellers in the United Kingdom after their release last week, barely outselling both Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee.

GameIndustry.biz wrote:

"Although Pokémon was technically the best performer of the week, because both games are listed separately, the official No.1 is Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Activision Blizzard's remaster has started strongly, and continues the firm's success with 1990s remakes following the impressive performance of Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy.

Like that game, the title has performed very well on PS4 - 75 per cent of Spyro's sales came on Sony's platform.

That means there are two sets of 1990s remakes which sit atop the UK charts this week. Nostalgia remains a potent sales tool for video games, which bodes well for the upcoming PlayStation Classic.

Pokémon and Spyro were two of four major games released at retail this past week. Unfortunately, the other two had a tricker time on the High Street."
